Particle Systems

For school we have to create several particle systems within UDK. Particle Systems are a combination of animation, textures and materials to create an appealing, flashy effect, like lights or fires, without having to create some sort of complicated mesh.

My first idea for a particle system going to be a set of coins being launched into the air.

Video Research:

My idea for a second particle system is just neon-colored sparks that fly out of slightly non-functioning neon signs.

Sketch Dump 2

Sketch Dump 1

Usagi: Mask Design

After finding the bodytype and working on the body, it moved onto Mask Design,

I first created several sketches, to try and figure out what i really wanted it to look like

From there, I narrowed it down, two three, and first drew a base to be able to draw over it.

Aaaaand finally, I chose the middle one, and finished the character, shown Here

Usagi: Exploration and Development

Usagi, my Character I am modeling for 3D took a little while to create- but with little time I had to buckle down and quickly try and create an interesting design for his character. This is what I went through while working on him.

First I did some reasearch to try and find the "look" i wanted for Usagi:

I also looked at research for the main theme of his design, His bunny mask:

Then, I began to sketch out different body types and looks for him:

Car, Progress and problems.

For my 3D class, we've spent the last few months working on Car models. From here I'll post my progress from base block-out to the semi-final piece (It's still a work in progress)

It first started with a block out model, using primitives and putting pictures on each of the axis to allow for accurate modeling.

From there we moved on to detail work, which entailed going out and looking at the car, and figuring out it's dimensions in 3D space, to be able to accurately portray it's look. After much tweaking, this is what it turned out to look like.

(I'm very proud of this wheel)

Finally, we move on to texturing....But I'm having a bit of trouble with that, so we'll get back to it. Here's what I got so far.

Modular Railing for Class!

Something I forgot to post a short while back, for our Game Design Class, we're creating several modular kits for all to use within our levels, and mine is a Railing Kit that'll keep everyone's cars from falling off the level!

It was fun to make, and rather simple. Each piece slides in at a 25, 45, 75, and 95 degree angle, and are avaliable in full, left and right pieces. It even comes with an end piece that can be used to finish the pieces when they need to be finished.

3D Character Assignment: Usagi, The Silent Wastelander

Character Design for 3D Class- This is the character turn around, to be made into a model within the coming month.
